Your Trip Starts at Kollegal School for the Speech & Hearing Impaired
Step into a world of joy, creativity, and connection as you visit the Kollegal Deaf School. Join the children in chapel services, music programs, art sessions, and games. Walk with them through lush rice fields during morning devotions, learning sign language along the way. Visit a nearby scenic river, meet the local elephants, and explore a vibrant vegetable market. Experience the rhythm of life in rural India—and even plant rice alongside the students. You’ll also be welcomed into the home of one of the students for a glimpse into local life and hospitality.
Blind School Visit
Be inspired by the courage and determination of visually impaired students who have overcome extraordinary odds. Hear firsthand stories of children rescued from difficult situations and now thriving in a safe, supportive community. Participate in sports like cricket and shot put, led by Nandie, a Special Olympics athlete. Visit the computer lab where students are gaining skills for future employment. Witness the blend of cultures as you visit a student’s home and observe local traditions, including Hindu worship practices.
Visakhapatnam (Vizag) Slum Outreach
Visit a tailoring school where girls and women from the Vizag slums are learning new skills to create better futures. Spend meaningful time with preschool children from the nearby brothel district—offering love, hope, and joy in a place where it’s desperately needed. Walk alongside families who are redefining their stories, and experience the resilience of this vibrant community. Optional: Visit a local home to deepen your connection to the lives being transformed.
Sunrise Children’s Home – Bobbili
Experience the heart of India at the Sunrise Children’s Home, a refuge for full and semi-orphaned children. Meet the incredible kids who call this place home and see the progress on a new elementary school being built to serve the next generation. For the adventurous, journey to the home of Jayashanth in the nearby mountains—traveling by truck, enjoying fresh coconut water, and experiencing a full day immersed in village life. Wrap up the visit with a joyful program at the Bobbili Day School.
