Warm Clothing
Refugee and rescued children often have little more than the clothes on their backs. In the cold months, this leaves them vulnerable to sickness. Providing warm clothing helps protect their health, brings comfort, and reminds each child that they are safe and cared for.
Giving Options:
- $15 per sweatshirt and sweatpant set
- $20 per winter coat
“The principal of our sponsored school in Thailand shared this story from his childhood: ‘When the sun slipped behind the hills, the air would turn cold, and my little heart would grow heavy. As the sixth child in my family, with one younger brother, it was my job to make sure he slept well. But staying warm was always a struggle. Our jackets were thin and worn, passed down from one sibling to the next, and our blankets barely covered us. At night, we would huddle close beside the fire in the middle of our hut. When the flames died down, I’d wake again, shivering, pulling the blanket tight and wrapping my brother in my arms to keep him warm. Some nights felt endless, as if morning would never come. I used to dream of a thick blanket or a soft sweater to keep me warm through the night. This winter, you can make that dream come true for another child.’”
