CEO
Tom Evans, DMin, CLC, became CEO of Child Impact International in August 2021. Dr. Tom’s background includes pastoral ministry, outreach leadership, church planting and stewardship, and conference president, all within the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Driven by a deep heart for children and orphans, Tom’s transition from church leadership to nonprofit work was a natural progression. Under his leadership and vision, Child Impact International has experienced significant growth, now supporting projects in more than 20 countries with five country offices providing hope to impoverished and neglected children.
Since moving to Tennessee, Tom and his family have adopted four children and plan to welcome more, reflecting their personal commitment to the mission.

Ron Herr is the Chairman of the Board and a dedicated champion of Child Impact International's vision. Ron accepted the nomination to become Chairman in November 2025, capping two years of distinguished service on the board. He brings deep experience in finance and executive leadership, having served as the Finance Director at Andrews University prior to his retirement. Ron is a passionate teacher of accounting and economics, which highlights his commitment to sustainable financial health and governance.
He has leveraged his retirement to travel extensively with his wife, visiting many of Child Impact International's projects around the world. These personal experiences have made him an avid and active supporter of the organization's critical work. His financial expertise and direct engagement with the field operations are invaluable assets to the board's strategic plans and direction.

John Truscott is the longest-standing board member and a highly valued advisor to Child Impact International, bringing a wealth of institutional knowledge and leadership experience. Since joining the board, John has served in multiple critical capacities, including Board Chair and Board Treasurer, making his expertise in Finance and Accounting invaluable to the organization's governance.
John continues to work part-time in his own business, providing financial and accounting services. Partially retired, he enjoys traveling extensively, which complements his personal commitment to the organization's global vision.
Originally from Australia, John has lived in the United States for many years. He is deeply committed to Child Impact International's mission, and his varied experience in governance, financial oversight, and business management is a key asset to the board.

Anne Binette has been a business owner for many years. She sold a successful home décor store in the Atlanta area before relocating to Collegedale so her daughters could attend Southern Adventist University, her alma mater. With a 30-year background in Public Health Nursing and Health Education, she spent those years serving women in the North Georgia mountains through teaching, community outreach, and health services.
Anne has been a Child Impact International board member for 6 years and has served as the recording secretary for more than 16 years. Her roles within the organization have included office manager and now operations manager, reflecting her steady commitment to its mission. Her passion for the children we serve continues to shape and inspire her work.

Angela Estrada, RN, BSN, joined the Child Impact International Board in late 2025. She is a compassionate nursing professional with extensive experience in patient care, leadership, and community health advocacy. Deeply committed to protecting vulnerable and at-risk populations, Angela brings strong skills in governance, nonprofit collaboration, and public health initiative advancement.
She is the Owner and President of The Sweet Bye N Bye Inc., a group of residential assisted living and memory care communities in Salem, Oregon, where she leads with a focus on dignity, safety, and quality of life for seniors.
Angela’s dedication to safeguarding children and supporting underserved communities aligns closely with Child Impact’s mission and strengthens the board’s collective vision and impact.

Brad Fisher joined the board in 2023, formalizing a relationship of support and service to Child Impact International that has spanned over 16 years. Brad brings significant expertise as a successful businessman, having owned and operated a thriving lithographic business in the Collegedale area. His professional experience in running a successful company provides the board with a fresh and valuable perspective on business management, efficiency, and strategy. For many years, Brad's company has been a dedicated business associate, providing Child Impact International with all its essential printed marketing needs.
A longtime resident of the Collegedale area, Brad began his education in Indiana and graduated with a BS in Technology and a minor in Business from Andrews University in Michigan. His dedication to the mission is personal; he and his wife have traveled to some of the organization's projects and share an ongoing passion for changing the lives of at-risk children around the world.

Gale Wehling has served as a Child Impact International Board Director for 18 years. Raised on a farm in southern Nebraska, he earned a B.S. in Education with elementary and secondary endorsements from the University of Nebraska before balancing a career in teaching with farming, eventually farming full-time for more than 40 years.
Gale also served for 18 years as a township trustee, gaining deep experience in community leadership and service. His personal journey includes faithfully caring for his first wife, Mary, as she battled Alzheimer’s for many, many years. He is now married to Karon Wehling, a longtime elementary educator and Child Impact ambassador.
His long-standing commitment to Child Impact is rooted in his trust in the organization’s transparency and mission, and his desire to bring meaningful, positive change to the lives of vulnerable children.

Heidi López has served on the Child Impact International Board since 2022. Originally from Argentina, she studied Office Management at Universidad Adventista del Plata and now manages Art of Dentistry, the busy Collegedale practice of her husband, Dr. Arturo López. Together, they are bilingual and serve many Spanish-speaking families in their community.
Heidi is the mother of two daughters who have joined her and Art on multiple mission trips to Africa, providing dental care to children served by Child Impact. Known for her compassion and commitment to service, she is deeply dedicated to helping those in crisis and supporting vulnerable children worldwide.

VP of Field Operations
Jason Churchwell serves as a Child Impact International board member and Vice President of Field Operations. He is a graduate of the University of Georgia with a degree in Business Administration, emphasizing Finance, and brings experience from ADRA International, AdventHealth, and founding a successful commercial business, Press Together.
Since joining Child Impact in 2022, Jason has applied mission-minded leadership to advance projects aligned with the organization’s mission, “To empower vulnerable children through education and eradicate exploitation. He has been a board member since 2024.
He and his wife, Carrie, are the parents of two daughters who serve as Child Impact ambassadors and have even created lemonade stands to support the children served by the ministry.

Kelly Loeffler was elected to the Child Impact International Board in November 2025. She serves as Chief Growth Officer and Senior Vice President at Universal Health Services, where she drives enterprise growth, business development, and strategic expansion.
She holds a B.S. in Marketing from Oakland University and is a member of the UHS executive team, spearheading planning, development, and execution of growth strategies. Her leadership earned her the 2024 Chief Growth Officer of the Year award.
In her spare time, Kelly enjoys serving as the Girls Varsity Soccer Coach at Collegedale Academy. She brings strong leadership, strategic insight, and a personal commitment to mentoring youth to her role on the board.

Nicole Parker joined the Child Impact International Board of Directors in May 2023. She is an author, Bible counselor, and adjunct professor at Southern Adventist University, where she teaches counseling and conflict resolution and co-teaches Sexuality and Scripture with her husband, Alan.
She has Masters of Arts in Pastoral Ministry and Biblical Counseling. She co-founded Project Safe Church (formerly Bucket Brigade) and authored the bestselling Tales of the Exodus series, helping readers wrestle with faith and suffering. A passionate follower of Jesus and advocate for the vulnerable, Nicole brings valuable insight and heartfelt commitment to her role on the board.
Her son, Seth, also serves as a Child Impact ambassador, sharing the mission in churches throughout the region.
