When it came time to start school, she had no guardian to help her prepare—no one to provide clothes, bedding, soap, or even basic hygiene products. Each month during her menstrual cycle, Grace was forced to cut up old cloth to use as a pad. It was uncomfortable, unhygienic, and often caused her to miss school.
