Many children with vision impairment do not have access to proper eye care or corrective surgery. Through the miracle of medicine and the compassion of supporters like you, children like Nandini can have their world opened.

For students at Child Impact’s sponsored blind school in India, blurry outlines and shadows were all many had ever known. But in 2024, the generosity of supporters opened the door to healing. Four children underwent eye surgery, and one of them was a little girl named Nandini. Before surgery, she could only see 10–15% of the world around her. When the bandages came off and she opened her eyes, the very first face she saw was her mother’s. Wonder filled her eyes as she realized her world had changed forever. Today, Nandini’s vision is restored to 90%. She can recognize colors, wave to friends across the courtyard, and laugh with joy as she takes in details she never saw before. Her life has been transformed from darkness to light.
