Jim Rennie who has served as CEO for 13 years and has led significant growth of the organization will be taking what is a new role of Vice President Field Development and will focus on the development of Child Impact International’s programs in the various countries. His vast experience will allow strong development and focus on its projects. He will also support the incoming CEO in a smooth transition. The Child Impact board acknowledges the huge contribution Jim has made to the organization and is excited that he will now contribute to a new key role.
The Child Impact International board is very excited to announce the appointment of Dr. Tom Evans as the new CEO. Dr. Tom L. Evans is excited to join the team at Child Impact International as CEO beginning in August. Tom’s wife Mara is originally from Brazil. They have two sons, Lukas (17) and Andre (15). The Evans family will also be finalizing the adoption of two boys from an orphanage in Latvia over the summer (ages 12, 13). Three grown daughters (Alexis Charela, and Rachel) live in Texas. Tom has served in various senior denominational roles including: Conference Youth Director, Senior Pastor, Church Planter, Conference Church Planting and Stewardship Director, Seminary Professor, Conference President, and Conference Outreach Ministries Director. A significant ministry passion for Tom and Mara is advocating for orphans, refugees and the marginalized. Tom believes that every believer is called to engage in Jesus’ Acts 1:8 strategy and minister This key appointment will add leadership strength to the Child Impact International team and create a renewed focus on improving organizational outcomes and enable the organization to be in a position for continued future growth.in tangible ways to “the ends of the earth.” This biblical focus should emphasize the spiritual and physical needs of foreigners, widows, orphans, and the poor. Through speaking engagements and mission trips, the Evans family have ministered globally.
The work of Child Impact resonates with Tom and Mara in a deep and personal way. Tom states, “God has called each of us to make a difference in this world.
