Your Support Gives Hope to Thousands

Emergency Rice, Health and Education

Child Impact International establishes the Rice Health and Education Appeal to distribute food and essential items to the children in Adventist mission schools, the staff and their families. The school system throughout India, Bangladesh, and Myanmar are critical to the outreach of the Church. Child Impact International is one of few supporting organizations giving direct support to many of the larger Adventist schools.

With the initial appeal, Child Impact International was able was able to distribute over 20,000 bags of rice and other food to schools, teachers, and church workers. The church leadership in many countries expressed their gratitude through thanksgiving and praise for the thousands of rice bags that were distributed. The pandemic is still having a big impact on church mission schools and church mission workers with many on reduced wages. Child Impact International has now expanded the Rice and Health Appeal to include Education. Unfortunately, Covid brought many more challenges to the country and their mission schools. The children are no longer the only ones affected by the crisis, but the teachers, staff and now our local pastors and bible workers as well. The teachers and staff have only been able to collect 50% of their wages and in some cases no wages at all. The cash crisis has made it impossible to purchase food for children who board with us and the nationwide crisis trend is not set to change anytime soon. Millions have lost their jobs and in poor communities the wage has fallen.

The key priority moving forward will be to ensure that the schools open and remain open during the ongoing crisis. The goal will be to provide the mission schools with a minimum of 3 month’s supply of food and supplies. We also want to ensure that our teachers, bible workers, and pastors, struggling to meet their needs can receive continued support.

Jim Rennie, CEO of Child Impact International, says “We are very appreciative of the incredible support thus far, but the need is great and the assistance must continue in order to sustain the schools and the staff. Sadly, there is also a constant demand for emergency supplies from community groups where the children reside.” We cannot express our appreciation for your contribution and support of our cause. Thanks to your donation we will be able to deliver more food and supplies to the mission schools, the staff and pastors and bible workers in surrounding churches. We want to extend an invitation to you to participate in the opportunity to make a change for a lifetime for those we serve. Our current donors have enjoyed developing a stronger partnership with our organization, and I am hoping you will do the same.
